Of course, COVID has taken a huge toll on all of us, but we are doing our best as a team to stay afloat and keep our clients safe, happy and as relaxed as possible every time they come in.Īs you know, we’re big fans of Luminous Nail Bar. Our current team is just perfect, although we are always looking to hire skilled technicians (yes, we’re picky with who we hire) & we’ve truly learned the ins and outs of running the salon. Now, with the grace of God, almost two years later, so much has fallen into place. This was something that took me a long time to learn & implement. My background IS in management so I was used to forming structure – but nail salons grow with flexibility, not structure. Of course, there were so many things that I was still learning. There was barely time to breathe & having a life outside of the salon was literally out of the question. There was even a few months that we had no receptionist, so I was working in the salon as both a new business owner & receptionist seven days a week. During our transition, many employees decided not to continue working out of fear of a new owner & new rules and we had trouble finding new reliable employees. It has definitely not been a smooth road, but it’s been a blessed one! We had a crazy hard time in 2019 since it was our first year as Luminous Nail Salon’s owners. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road? With the support of our families and siblings, we were able to happily call Luminous Nail Bar our own on January 16th, 2019! in the salon & so far, it’s been a great step for us.
We even envisioned hosting bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, etc. What better way of expanding than to offer our brides & their families discounted pampering sessions. My husband & I were excited and felt this was the right move for us. Towards the end of 2018, we found that Luminous Nail Bar was being sold after just four months of opening due to the high-stress levels of running a successful Nail Salon. Our vision was to move into a larger space & become a one-stop wedding production company, which we did to a certain extent, but we would’ve never guessed that the opportunity of a lifetime would just- fall into our laps. In 2018, my husband & I felt we were ready to grow & do something-BIG! We had the time, we saved some money, and we definitely were used to providing high-stress services.
